At Inspired Legacies, we work closely with our diverse and engaged board of directors to model what we see as exemplary practices in nonprofit management. Our advisory board is developing currently and offers us wise counsel on the field of legacy planning and giving.

Lisa Parker, Board Member
Lisa Parker has over 25 years in youth and family philanthropy and has been the President and Executive Director of the Lawrence Welk Family Foundation since 1997. She launched the Foundation's youth philanthropy initiative in 2003 and helped seed a broader youth giving movement. In 2009 she founded Family Circle Advisors helping families, schools, foundations and corporations more deeply engage youth in meaningful giving experiences. Ms. Parker's work has included managing nonprofit organizations and consulting with both corporate and family foundations and she has spoken extensively on issues related to youth and family philanthropy. As a mother of two, she is particularly passionate about helping families nurture the philanthropic impulse in future generations.
Jean Russell, Board Chair
Jean Russell joined Inspired Legacies during our development process in 2005. She founded Thrivable Inc. to help move the story of sustainability to one of thriving possibility. Her book, Thrivability: A Collaborative Sketch leveraged a diverse network of change agents to give voice to this emerging concept. Currently, Jean is working on a book on the breakthroughs across neuroscience, narrative formation, metrics, technology, and creativity for co-creating a more compassionate, resilient, healthy, and playful world.
Heather Gee, Board Member
Heather Gee is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) with more than 25 years of fundraising, gift planning, and philanthropic guidance experience.
Heather recently launched her own philanthropic consulting practice, GPS Philanthropy. As a professional services organization, one of its areas of expertise it to lead people and organizations as they pursue relevancy and purpose during their philanthropic journey. GPS clients include nonprofits, foundations and corporations that need fundraising guidance, advice, tools and personalized strategic and impacting giving strategies. Her focus also includes family trusts, businesses and offices with philanthropic individuals who seek direction in their contributions and legacy planning.
Her Teaching engagements include The American College, Eastern University, Villanova University, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, Purposeful Planning Institute and National Center on Black Philanthropy. She is also an Inspired Legacies Associate.

Philip Cubeta, Chair of Advisors
Phil Cubeta, CLU, ChFC, MSFS, CAP is the Sallie B. and William B. Wallace Chair in Philanthropy at The American College. He is responsible for the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) curriculum. Prior to joining The American College, Phil worked for New York Life Insurance Company in a variety of roles in training, instructional design, financial planning, and advanced underwriting. From 1991 to 1993, he headed up New York Life's Charitable Giving Network of Agents. From 1995 to 2008, he served as Chief for The Nautilus Group, a service of New York Life Insurance Company providing estate, business, and philanthropic strategies to affluent clients through 200 of the company's top agents. Phil is past-President of the North Texas Chapter of National Committee on Planned Giving. He also serves on the Education Committee of Dallas Social Venture Partners. He works with Inspired Legacies as a volunteer.
Joanne Reich, Nonprofit Leader with the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church
Joanne Reich currently serves as the Child Protection and Community Assistance Officer and Ministries with Women, Children, and Families for the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church. She also serves as the Chair of the Justice For Women Working Group of the National Council of Churches USA, and as a board member of Interfaith Worker Justice and FaithTrust Institute (working on sexual and domestic violence). Her entire career has been involved with Not For Profit Organizations related to Justice Issues. Joanne received her BA in Economics from Mary Baldwin College and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Houston. Joanne currently resides in Ashland City, TN.
Bob Belkin, Marketing/Management Consultant & legacy advisor
Bob Belkin's experience and expertise is in the areas of Market Management, Strategic Planning and Organizational Development. His thirty plus year career included senior level management in national and international corporate development. More recently he was cofounder of Planned Giving Associates, an organization dedicated to assisting nonprofits in starting planned giving programs for their donors. He is an active volunteer in his community and he and his wife Marguerite have resided in Houston for the past twenty-five years.
